Production & Properties of Blended Fuel performed the experiments on a multi-cylinder, 4-stock SI engine using blends of ethanol and gasoline by variation of ignition timing, relative A/F ratio and compression ratio at a constant speed. The effects of various blends on engine torque, specific fuel consumption and emission were experimentally evaluated and it was found that among the four blends, E20 produced the best thermal and mechanical efficiency of 34% and 92.77%, respectively.
- • Ethanol is good for the environment because it has the low value of CO, CO2, hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen emissions.
- • Ethanol production supports farmers and creates domestic job, which also reduce dependency over foreign oil.
